Sacmi set for major Interpack equipment launches in Dusseldorf next week

Italy's Sacmi Packaging and Chocolate technologies will once again be set to play a pivotal role at this year's Interpack, with the events doors set to open next Thursday in Dusseldorf, Germany, writes Neill Barston.

As the company, which is exhibiting at Hall 4 Stand E05-F06 noted, in its long-established history, the business has developed leading expertise in integrated systems for the preparation and moulding of chocolate, traditional wrapping, flowpack and secondary packaging. In chocolate processing, it will demonstrate its HFT 518, the new five-cylinder refiner designed to meet the market's burgeoning demand for versatile solutions that can efficiently process products with complex ingredients and recipes.

The system guarantees optimal grinding results and fine particle sizing, Alongside it, the company is exhibiting a first for 2023 – two machines from the latest version of the Nano Chocoline chocolate processing line, which produces chocolate and compounds: these are the new two-cylinder HCP 203 pre-refiner and the five-cylinder HFI 509 refiner. The design features of these machines (two 300mm cylinders for the HCP and five 900mm cylinders for the HFI) make it possible to reproduce – on a smaller scale – a high-quality chocolate processing line, typically consisting of mixer, pre-refiner, refiner and conches.

The main goal? To achieve the same performance in technological and qualitative terms, but with productivity starting from 400-500kg/h. For chocolate moulding, the business will be showcasing its Cavemil Super 860, a new generation of lines with continuous-motion moulds, designed for producing pralines, bars and tablets. In addition, there will also be a debut for its new chocolate drop dosing system, as well as machinery responding to a vast array of primary packaging needs, both traditional wrap and flowpack, and secondary packaging requirements such as cartoning and case packing. A key highlight will be its latest HTB wrapping machine for tablets and bars.

As the company added, the machine is making claimed major strides in wrapping technology by taking an all-electronic approach that, for the very first time, replaces a purely mechanical design, taking innovation to the next level.HTB combines the best wrapping quality with the highest speed on the market: manufacturers can make 250 tablets per minute, without any damage to the wrapping and/or processed product. This is because innovative machine design lets producers handle even the most delicate products in high-speed sequences.

Furthermore, HTB-made tablets feature a double wrap: an inner one sealed on three sides and an outer one, either in pre-cut cardboard or in envelope style, made using pre-cut paper or detached directly from reels.Moreover, HTB is at the forefront of sustainability and energy recovery. This is because it lets users retrieve energy in a circular manner, ensuring attainment and maintenance of maximum energy efficiency/optimisation. In short: yet another addition to Sacmi Packaging & Chocolate's already broad range of innovative wrapping technologies.

Like HTB, the new HY7, dedicated to the multi-style wrapping of flat-based pralines, takes SACMI Packaging & Chocolate's revolutionary approach to machine design. This solution wraps flat-base pralines in a range of styles (e.g. Top, Side & Double Twist, Bunch, Wallet and Envelope). Here too, machine operation is not based just on mechanical transmission but on high-performance, energy-efficient servo drives; note also that the various machine units have 40% fewer components than previous models.
